Dixon – 2016 ended with a bang for local Realtor and Dixon community champion Kevin Johnson as he announced that he would be ending his over a decade long affiliation with Century 21 in favor of opening a REMAX Gold brand office to service the present and future residents of Lambtown.
Under the personal mission statement of, “Do the best you can everyday and just try to make a positive difference,” Johnson, his wife Carla, eight children and two grand children planted their roots firmly in Dixon in 2004 and have, in a total family effort, made a remarkable impact on the community in many ways by participating in countless fundraising and community building efforts.
After 12 years under the Century 21 umbrella, where he helped over 650 families find their dream homes and earned countless recognitions for his exceptional Real Estate practices and Community efforts, Johnson concluded that it was time to make the leap into establishing a powerful new Real Estate team in the area to not only offer the community an exceptional home buying experience but to also help Dixon reach the next rung of small-town greatness.
“After talking to REMAX about building our Team and opening a REMAX office in Dixon it was just far too exciting to me and it was something that I could not pass up. It was exciting thinking about getting the Johnson Group powered by REMAX up and running,” said Johnson. “I feel that REMAX is going to be a wonderful Downtown [Dixon] partner.”
Though Johnson is looking forward to growing the Johnson Group – REMAX, he explained that he has a strong and skilled pair of team members in Fernando Ontiveros, Realtor and Anna Henry, Transaction Coordinator/Office Manager to get the ball rolling.
Ontiveros has over 20 years of solid background experience and knowledge in finances and in the banking world.
Prior to joining the Johnson Group, Ontiveros was employed by Jumbo CD Investments, Inc. where he managed a portfolio over $500,000 million dollars in national Jumbo CD accounts.
His clients included large banks, credit unions, corporations and personal investors.
Ontiveros explained that his plans are to make a positive impact in the Hispanic community in Dixon with his bilingual skills and on top of all provide excellent detailed customer service. All this combined makes him a tremendously valuable resource for Johnson Group – REMAX customers.
“Dixon’s population is 43 percent Hispanic and growing. Having [Fernando] on our team is a blessing and will only further enhance the services that we can offer the Dixon community,” said Johnson.
Henry has worked in the real estate business for 14 years and explained that she has a love and passion for the industry. She worked in Escrow from 2003 to 2007 but when the real estate market changed in 2008, Henry decided to transition to the Sales/Closing side of the Real Estate process, as a Transaction Coordinator.
“I’ve had the great pleasure of working with Kevin for the past five years and helping him build an awesome team,” said Henry. “I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings for The Johnson Group powered by Re/Max Gold and many more years to come.”
“We have a really great team that is 100 percent dedicated to this community. That is how I have grown my business. It is not about me—it is about what we can do for the community,” said Johnson. “If your philosophy is to be dedicated to the community and to give back to the community – your community will give back to you ten-fold.”
Along with the announcement of the launching of the Johnson Group powered by REMAX Gold came the news of Johnson’s intention to establish the group’s businesses office at the Dixon transportation building, which has and will continue to act as the headquarters for the Dixon Chamber of Commerce.
“Once City Council made the decision to advertise the Chamber Building, using a RFP for minimum market rent, the idea to submit for the building became I idea worth consideration,” he said. “I was originally going submit a response to the RFP and literally move my Century 21 staff over there, utilize a private office and change anything.”
Johnson continued, “Nothing was going to change. Despite the monthly cost, it seemed like a good idea and I simply did not want to see the Chamber of Commerce being required to relocate.”
With the sky being the limit, community enrichment being the goal and company growth an undeniable truth – the Johnson Group – REMAX is sure to make a positive impact on Dixon and surrounding communities for years to come.
“As we grow our team, our agents are going to need to be people that have the same mindset. In other words, it is not about us. It is not about our team. It is about the community and what we can give back,” he said.
