Elk Grove, CA – November 2017
RE/MAX Gold is proud to acknowledge the Judy and Sam Real Estate Team from the Elk Grove office, in their philanthropic efforts. Samantha Tov and Judy Cuong sponsored a “Super Car Show” fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the victims of the northern California wildfires that tore through our state last month.
Both Judy and Samantha’s husbands are both “car fanatics” with a love for exotic and European cars, so the idea of hosting a car show as a fundraiser was the obvious choice. After seeing the devastation of the wildfires in Napa Valley and throughout the state, Judy and Sam knew they wanted the car show to benefit those directly impacted.
Despite the uncertainty of a grim weather forecast, when the day came it was warm and sunny–the perfect conditions for an outdoor event. One by one the cars came, filling the lot with one of a kind cars both exotic and vintage. With a great turnout of 30 to 40 cars, there was a one for everyone: a 1934 Ford Coupe with 700 horsepower, a 2012 Ferrari 458, a 2017 Mercedes C63s modified with 770 horsepower, and perhaps the most prestigous, a 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28. “My favorite was the white convertible California Model Ferrari,” said Samantha.
The car show was held in the parking lot of Umai Bar & Grill in Elk Grove, which meant guests could come inside for a delicious sushi break during the event. Umai even got in on the spirit of giving and donated 20% of all proceeds that day to the fundraiser.
The car show was very successful for the cause. Between the fundraiser proceeds and the portion donated from Umai, they raised $2,500, but Judy and Sam didn’t stop there. The team secured the community Whole Foods to match that donation of $2,500, meaning Judy and Sam were able to donate a total of $5,000 to victims of the California wildfires. Because the car show was a big hit and a lot of fun, Judy and Sam plan to make this an annual event to benefit Children’s Miracle Network, a cause close to RE/MAX Gold’s heart.
“I am in constant awe of these two great ladies. They are the busiest, hardest working people I know. But they find the time to do things to raise money for people they have never met. They do this many times a year for many charities. Today was a great day to raise money for the Napa area fire victims. To Samantha, Judy, their team and the whole crew at Umai and those that attended today, cheers! I tip my hat to those that step up and make it happen!” — Chris Weissensee, Samantha’s husband
When asked about the vision for their team and their client-first philosophy, Samantha had this to say:
“Our vision is to grow like family grows. We treat each team member like family, brothers and sisters. We all help one another out and lean on each other for any and all support needed. When each individual succeeds, the team succeeds. We go above and beyond for all of our clients, whether a seller or buyer, all receive the utmost respect and highest level of professionalism by each agent and the whole team’s support. Judy and I are truly blessed to be able to be working moms, wives, team leaders and still be able to give to our local community when we can.”
